It is often known as the birthplace of the Daytona 500, as the first automobile race took place on the beach in 1903.

Rose Villa is a southern dining and hospitality experience and a historic Ormond Beach eatery. The charming restaurant is inviting and showcases the Victorian and 1920s details in the building. It is best known for its southern fried chicken or shrimp and grits. The lower level is a dining room, and the upper level is a whiskey bar. Grind Kona & Tiki Bar is a lively restaurant in downtown Ormond that features a tiki bar, outdoor dining, live music, brunch options, and a notable bloody mary drink. 
Volusia Mall is a popular shopping place in nearby Daytona Beach with shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.

Things to Do

Ormond is a beautiful natural area with many parks and waterfront areas to surf, kayak, swim, boat, hike, and picnic. The Addison Blockhouse Historic State Park is a step back in time within the woods of the community. The park features the Addison Blockhouse, located on old plantation land and served as a defense for the Carolina Regiment of Volunteers against the Seminole attacks. 
Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail is more than 30 miles of roadway that covers diverse landscaping and topography that leads to the ocean, parks, creeks, marshes, rivers, island dunes, and historic dwellings. Birthplace of Speed Park is an oceanfront park that celebrates the first car race held on the beach in 1903 and features a dune walkover, scenic views, and memorabilia.
